NITA-U in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Commonwealth Cybercrime Initiative (CCI) is held the EAC Regional Meeting on ‘Preventing and Combating Cybercrime’ on 27th and 28th May 2014 at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

The aim of this meeting was to develop initiatives that will be used effectively across the East African Community and further build the countries’ capacity to prevent and combat cybercrime and thereby strengthen the ICT legal and regulatory environment through the exchange of knowledge and expertise. The meeting brought together senior government officials, key stakeholders from Member States of the EAC, as well as the representatives of the relevant organizations and was officially opened by Minister of ICT, Hon. John Nasasira.
